Larry Keith Coshow

Larry is a native Oklahoman. He attended the University of Oklahoma where he received his B.B.A. in Petroleum Land Management. Upon graduation Larry began his career with Texas Oil & Gas Corp ("TXO") in their land management training program.

In 1985, Larry moved to Tulsa, Ok to work for Charities Schusterman at Landmark Exploration Co, privately owned company by Mr Schusterman.. Larry later moved over to Samson Resources Co. as a Senior Landman. 

While at Samson, Larry received his M.B.A. from Oklahoma City University in 1993, attending classes at night in Tulsa, Ok

In 1995, Larry moved to Oklahoma City to for JMA Energy Company as a Senior Landman and later as their Land Manager, acquiring ground floor leases and working interest.

In 1999, Larry took a position at CHK Energy Corporation working in the Business Development group as direct report to Tom Ward, co-founder of CHK, working Western Oklahoma and Texas Panhandle to build the company's Anaderko Division ownership and acreage as their land manager. Larry moved over to the Barnett Shale/East Texas/North Louisiana division to work a land staff to work acquisition ramping up to 6+ rigs within the first 8 months of closing. While ramping up activity in the Barnett Shale, CHK was moving into East Texas/Northern Louisiana In what is now known as the Haynesville basin area, growing company leasehold footprint to over one million net acres in less than 18 months and running over 25 rigs.

In 2006, Larry joined Tom Ward in Sand Ridge energy as Executive VP of Land. in First 60 days Sand Ridge acquired all assets of National Energy Group for over $1.2 billion. 

In 2008, Larry started his own Private land service/consulting company, ZaCale Resources Company, LLC working for several private and public equity backed companies, providing acquisition and divestiture services, land, land administration and division order services. Areas worked include: West Texas Permian, new Mexico, Colorado, Wyoming, North Dakota, Montana, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas Panhandle, Arkansas, Louisiana, East Texas and Gulf Cost of Texas. 

2014, Larry became the Land Manager for Matador Resources Co. working the Permian, Eagle Ford and Haynesville basin as a mentor, teacher and leader to the landmen, land support staff and division order staff. Involved in Matador's acquisition of Harvey Yates (HEYCO).

2015, took a position with BP America Production Company as Land Director, Mid-Con Development Business Unit. Since retiring from BP America in 2022, Larry has been doing contract and consulting in the Mid-Continent area. He has written a few books he hopes to publish.

A member of AAPL serving on the Forms committee and is and instructor for the RPL/CPL review courses. A member of the local association of Tulsa and Oklahoma City. He is currently serving on the OCAPL board and co-committee chairman for the Weekend Take Off event sponsored by OCAPL each fall. Larry serves on the University of Oklahoma Energy Management Board of Advisors.


Thomas M. Rucker II, CPL

Tom Rucker has over thirty-five years diversified oil and gas experience and has worked most of the major U. S. basins in all phases of land work. He graduated from The University of Texas with a Petroleum Land Management degree in 1981 and has worked for large and small E & P’s as well as in trust management positions at The Northern Trust Company, managing the mineral holdings for affluent clients.

He interned at Palo Petroleum while attending UT and then worked the Anadarko Basin in Oklahoma with Mack Oil Company. In 1981 he joined Shell Oil Company in Houston and assigned to Rocky Mountain Division. At Shell Tom worked extensively on field assignments in Colorado, New Mexico, Nevada and North Dakota, conducting title and securing leases, dealing with the BLM and Bureau of Indian Affairs before returning in-house to work federal units in Nevada. In 1985 Shell transferred Tom to its West Coast operations in Bakersfield where he handled land issues in Shell’s heavy oil operations in Kern County, California.

When oil prices tanked in the mid to late 80’s Tom left Shell to pursue an MBA also working for lease brokers and managing mineral interests for California trustees. He passed the CPL exam in 1990 having joined Trust Services of America in Los Angeles in 1988. There, he managed a fledgling department turning it into a profit center. His career took him to Dallas when Northern Trust acquired TSA in 1992. At Northern, Tom was promoted to Vice President and responsible for managing the energy assets, negotiating leases, monetizing the assets and conducting client presentations.

After 17 years in energy trust management Tom joined Encana in 2005 as a Land Negotiator in its East Texas Cotton Valley Bossier and Lime fields. There, he managed a five-rig drill schedule, negotiated multiple-well carry farmouts and acquired large blocks of leases to promote Encana’s drilling program. In 2010 he left Encana to join Pioneer’s Barnett Team and managed the title and drill schedule for Pioneer’s horizontal drilling program and also its surface operations.

A member of AAPL since 1980 Tom served as AAPL’s Ethics Chairman in 2014-2015. In March 2015 after the sale of its Barnett operations, Tom accepted a package with Pioneer and launched Buell Rucker Land Services, offering consulting services. Tom lives in Dallas with his wife, Debbie. They have three children, six grandchildren, and a German Shepard.

Jimmy Wright

Mr. Wright graduated from Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas with degrees in Spanish and Political Science. After a tour with the United States Army, he began his career as an independent landman in 2004. He has served in many capacities since then, including land manager and executive level leadership for multiple oil and gas operators. 

He holds an MBA with a focus in Land Management and received both his Certified Professional Landman (CPL) and Certified Mineral Manager (CMM) designations in 2011. Mr. Wright has volunteered in various leadership roles within the American Association of Professional Landmen (AAPL), the National Association of Royalty Owners (NARO), the Permian Basin Landmen's Association (PBLA), and the Austin Professional Landmen's Association (APLA).

Mr. Wright was recently honored to have been named as the 2023 Landman of the Year by the AAPL.

A west Texas native, Mr. Wright and his wife, Laura, have two precious teen daughters, Anna and Megan. They enjoy traveling and playing board games as a family.
