Brandon L. Martin is the founder and managing partner of Martin Legal Group PLLC, based in Dallas, Texas.  Brandon founded the firm in 2013 to be a collection of seasoned energy attorneys focused on advising oil and gas companies in all phases of upstream operations and development.  The firm now represents several of the most active oil and gas operators in Texas, Oklahoma and Appalachia, in addition to numerous oil, gas and mineral investment companies.  

Brandon began representing clients in the cryptocurrency mining space in early 2017 when one of his clients began developing the first industrial-scale bitcoin mine in the world, located in Ward County, Texas.  Since that time, Brandon has focused a large portion of his practice on advising on-grid and off-grid bitcoin miners in their development of mining locations.  

Brandon earned his Bachelor of Business Administration from Texas A&M University in 2004, and his J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center in 2007.  He is licensed to practice law in Texas and Ohio, and is Board Certified in Oil, Gas, and Mineral Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.  Brandon lives in the Lakewood neighborhood of Dallas with his incredible wife and two amazing children, and enjoys running and biking at White Rock Lake.

Dan is the CEO and founder of Amalgamated Sludge, LLC, a vertically integrated natural gas production and bitcoin mining company with current operations in southeast New Mexico. Dan began his career 35 years ago as a reservoir engineer with Exxon in Midland. Dan's career progressed through a variety of companies and positions, including 18 years in the financial sector as an analyst and investment manager. Most recently Dan was the CEO of Pardus Oil & Gas, the successor to a restructured E&P company, which was sold in early 2020. Dan has three young adult children and lives in Plano with his wife Lisa.

Griffin is a 7th Generation Texan, he studied Energy Commerce at Texas Tech, and Ranch Management at TCU. In 2006 Griffin started his career as a Landman for Anadarko Petroleum before working as an independent landman running title and negotiating oil and gas leases. In 2015 Griffin co-founded Mountain Lion Oil & Gas, a privately held mineral & royalty buyer. After 17 years in the Oil & Gas industry, Griffin began focusing on mining Bitcoin. This led to the co-founding of Limpia Creek Technologies. After divesting its assets in 2021, he started Mountain Lion Mining, a datacenter and Bitcoin mining company in West Texas. Griffin and his wife Georgea are proud parents of four.

Justin Ballard is an experienced energy attorney representing corporations, landowners, and individuals in complex transactional matters. Justin’s practice focuses on complex cryptocurrency and bitcoin mining issues as well as representing oil and gas clients in all phases of the industry.

As a CEO, General Counsel, and Board Member, Justin has completed over $160 million in M&A transactions and scaled businesses to successful exits.

Justin has a deep experience in the bitcoin mining industry having served as the co-founder and CEO of JAI Energy prior to joining Martin Legal Group. While at JAI Energy, Justin combined his experience in the oil and gas industry and his passion for bitcoin mining to form one of the largest bitcoin mining operations in the state of Wyoming and closed on one of the largest single-site transactions in terms of megawatts in the space.

Prior to his work at JAI Energy, Justin spent more than a decade as general counsel and landman for multiple oil and gas operators. He served as Chief Legal Officer and Vice President of Land at Century Oil and Gas, LLC, a private equity-backed, Powder River Basin-focused operator out of Houston, Texas. While at Century, Justin successfully negotiated and closed on multiple acquisitions valued at over $16 million and was also responsible for handling all legal and land-related matters. Justin also previously served as General Counsel and Vice President of Acquisitions and Divestitures at Sponte Resources. He also spent time at Indigo Minerals and Anadarko Petroleum Corporation where he gained valuable experience in everything from midstream and gathering contracts to complex acquisitions and divestitures.

Justin and his children are proud citizens of the Cherokee Nation and when not at work, he enjoys spending his free time outdoors, fishing and traveling with his family.
